What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO is an abbreviation for "Search Engine Optimization". Search Engine Optimization is a strategy and tactics by which we can improve ranking of our site in various Search Engines for some specific Keywords related to our sites is used for increase the visibility of our site. By search Engine Optimization we can increase the visibility of our site. Visibility of website means more traffic (visitors) will come towards our site.


No one can say 100% that after SEO website comes in top ranks in Search Engine Result Pages (SERP's). If we do White hat SEO and follow all the rules of it then our site will get top ranks in SERP's of Search Engines. Now a day’s getting top rank in Search Engines is not an easy way. Day by day the algorithms of Search Engines are changing because they want to give better results to visitors.


Now a days SEO is not used only for improving rankings of our site in Search Engines. At present time it is used for business. Business in the sense we want to increase our product sell our service sell. Every one wants height Return on Investment (ROI).SEO is continuously changing, new updates and strategies are coming in SEO because search engines are continuously changing their algorithms of Search Engine Result Pages (SERP's).


Most of searches are done on Google Search Engine. So Google play's very important role in Internet Marketing.There are a lot of search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Live Search(MSN), Ask.com,AltaVista, AllTheWeb, Alexa Web Search, Cuil(New), Lycos ect.

SEO has mainly two parts:

On page Search Engine Optimization:
On page optimization is that we do on webpage changes to make our site Search Engine compatible. It is also known as website optimization. website optimization is process in which we optimize our website, so that it can easily rank high in various Search Engines.


Off Page Search Engine Optimization:
Off page optimization is used increasing the back links of our site or we can say to increase visibility of our site.
